hard drive partitioning software free

I need free partition software?

I would like to configure my computer to dual-boot Linux/Windows (i currently have just windows vista). I need some free software to create a partition on my NTFS hard drive. The software I have found is either $50 or does not work with Vista or NTFS file system.

try paragon partition manager, its free for 30 days, but its the best i ever found.

average hdd temp

Are these temperatures average for my system?

System:
E6320 stock at 1.86 OC’ed to 2.35Ghz
4GB (2 sticks) of OCZ RAM
Foxconn MARS motherboard (the fan on my southbridge is missing a screw, the fan itself is still in place, though)
8800GTS 640MB
HDDs:
Hitachi Deskstar 160GB (with OS on it)
Western Digital Caviar SE 250GB
Maxtor Diamondmax 500GB
Ambient temp: 28C
Case: Lexa NZXT

Temps:
Idle:
CPU – 28C each (Speedfan) // 34C (Case monitor)
F71882F (I’m guessing these are things on my mobo) – 42, 46, 46 (Speedfan)
HDD – 37C (Case monitor)
System – 40 (Case monitor)
GPU – 64C (Speedfan)

Load (playing Assassin’s Creed with itunes playing and browser opened in background):
CPU – 36, 35 (Speedfan) // 35C (Case monitor)
F71882F – 47, 50, 49 (Speedfan)
HDD – 37C (Case monitor)
System – 42/43 (Case monitor)
GPU – 75C (Speedfan)

Does this seem alright to you? I suck at dealing with temperatures since the ambient in my room is always at least 5 or 6C higher than anywhere else in the house.

Most of your stuff manages to stay below 50 degrees (except your GPU) so they’re alright.

It’s pretty normal for the 8800 GT to go above 70 degrees while it’s gaming, but if you want you can tweak it’s fan settings using EVGA Precision ( http://www.evga.com/precision/ ) — this works for all Nvidia cards, not just EVGA.

You can set a Temp / Fan Speed graph which allows you to increase the GPU fan speed in relation to the GPU Core temperature.
